Thigh Lift

As a result of decrease in skin elasticity and increase or decrease in subcutaneous adipose tissue due to factors such as age, genetics and excessive weight gain, sagging, size and deformities may occur in the thighs. These deformations, which cause the person to look old and unhealthy, can be corrected with thigh lift surgery. With a thigh lift, a person can have smoother, more taut and younger looking thighs.

Why Do Thighs Sagging?

Heavy diets and processes that cause rapid weight loss such as stomach reduction will cause sagging in the thighs as well as in the whole body. In addition, sagging on the thighs may occur due to environmental and hereditary reasons such as aging and overexposure to sunlight.

This situation not only creates an aesthetically pleasing image, but also negatively affects the psychology of the person.

Pre-Surgery

As in all surgeries, a detailed doctor's examination should be done beforehand and all details should be explained to the patient about the surgery.

In addition to this, the patient should also inform the physician about all his/her conditions such as the disease he/she has, the medication he/she uses, etc.

As in preparation for all operations requiring general anesthesia in thigh lift surgery, a 6-hour fasting period is required before the operation.

Patients using blood thinners etc. before the surgery should take a break from these drugs under the control of a doctor in order to minimize the risk of bleeding.

How is Thigh Lift Surgery Performed?

Thigh lift surgery applied in thigh sagging is usually performed under general anesthesia and sometimes under local anesthesia. It takes 2-3 hours on average.

Excess and sagging skin and subcutaneous fat tissue are removed by making incisions extending from the inner parts of the thighs to the inguinal folds. The scars usually remain on the inner thighs, which are the least visible places when viewed from the outside.

The patient may stay in the hospital for one day in very severe sagging and lubrication.

Liposuction is sufficient in cases where skin quality is good and there is no sagging, that is, only when fat accumulation is high. However, if there is skin sagging along with excess fat tissue, stretching surgery is absolutely necessary.

After Surgery

It is usually comfortable. Drains can be placed in this area to prevent postoperative bleeding and fluid accumulation. These are usually withdrawn after 1-2 days. Especially in the first two weeks after the surgery, it should be avoided from standing for too long, exercising and doing sports.

In order to reduce swelling, edema and bleeding that may occur in the surgery area, a corset or pressure bandage is applied. Generally, dissolving stitches are used and do not need to be removed.

There is no or almost no pain after the surgery. If there is pain, painkillers will suffice. Return to normal life is within a few days.
